Hi Mich,
First off you need a headshot and a full body shot. You do not need professional pictures to start modeling so please don't let anyone tell you that you do. My first headshot was one I took myself by holding the camera in front of me. Your headshot should be of you with no or very little makeup on. It should be taken straight on (no crazy myspace angles) and your body shot should be of you in just a regular outfit that shows off your shape. Don't dress overtly sexy in your pics plus modeling is very conservative. You won't get a lot of work (if any) trying to be ultra sexy. Just make sure the outfit you choose is not too baggy and not too tight.
Also take a look at www.plusmodels.com they have a lot of information and go over height and size requirements.
