I really don't want to sound like a hater. But Rhianna has like...maybe 4 major singles? I just can't understand what the big deal is. She is a very pretty young woman, but I am really missing the days of SANGERS. It seems like if you can really sing, you get snubbed unless you are conventionally beautiful. I mean, I peek around the blogs, and people DOG girls that will sing circles, triangles, and squares around Rhianna, Ciara, Keyshia. I don't get it.

I heard something the other day that I kinda laughed at...I remember some months ago we were talking about how much we couldn't stand Rihanna singing Umbrella... well, I found out it wasn't even meant for her it was written for Mary J. Blige, but Rihanna ended up recording it first, so they gave the song to her. I feel the same as you mz_mdc305, I don't care if some one looks horrible or not I just want good music and great voices... but the sad part is, before you even get a note out they judge "your look" and if you don't have "that" then don't even bother belting out a tune because they could care-less. There's only a few who actually get their voice heard but even if they do... if they don't look flawless, they're only heard by a few, that's it. I'm pretty disappointed in "music" as a whole, that's why I find myself listening to more indie and undiscovered artists now a days anyway.

I'VE SAID IT ONCE...AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN...can someone PLEASE hurry and give ReRe a modeling contract cuz I am sick and tired of hearing her voice!!! She can't sing to save her life....

Can someone please hand Ciera a dancing contract....she can't sing to save anyone's life..lol

And Key Lo-Lo *sighs*.....aint nothin to be said for that child....people like her cuz she's soulful..like MAry J......neither one of them can sing, but we can relate to them...that's the ONLY reason why I like them...they MAKE you feel a song when you hear and sing it...

You took the words right out of my mouth. If you sat Keisha, Ciara and Rhianna in a room with Aretha, Patti and Gladys, those little girls would either drop dead or, if they had the strength, leave the room with tears.

It amazes me how horrible our music has become and how shamelessly these record companies promote these "artists" knowing that they don't have an ounce of talent.

I can't agree with yall more!!!! and people wonder why I listen to the oldies or I listen to rock music more...its because its ACTUAL MUSIC! real singers, live instruments, good lyrics! I thought I was the only person who wondered how Rihanna rose to fame...get a good hook and a pretty face and you sell! everyone can tell your beautiful but if we went back to the days where the media didnt rule the world and we just LISTENED to music...Rihanna would still be in Barbados somewhere...where as it would me more of the likes of Jennifer Hudson and Jazmin Sullivan ruling the airwaves....but thats the sickness of the music industry....EITHER YOU LOVE IT OR YOU HATE IT!

It's not even about the music anymore its all about the way you look just like people say sex sells and unfortunately i think real music is paying the price because of it!!!

I think the music industry nowadays is based on looks rather then talent half of these groups that come out are hot one year and out the next and they are never heard of again as far as rihanna goes her voice is just straight out annoying for me personally i hated that umbrella song lol it just got on my nerves but thats just my opinion i think shes beautiful but i wonder how long shes gonna remain in the limelight!!!

I'd rather listen to old school music anyways real music for the soul
