Not to sound like I have a "defeatist" attitude, but I agree with CeCe in a lot of ways. I think the site has been left disregarded for so long that it will take a most valiant effort to bring it back. I don't, however, think you should let the site "die" because I believe that many still peek in and out without signing in. I know of at least two CCs who will either text me or email me and say, "Hey, I just posted something on CC...come on over," which will remind me to peek in.

For me, I stopped coming because most of what I liked began to dwindle away. The topics were mundane and some didn't deserve a response in my opinion. Even on the fashion pages, there just wasn't interest there for me anymore. I think the maturity level on here had changed drastically as well. Some topics, I just couldn't relate to on any level including the fashions. As a person nearing 40, a lot of stuff that a 19 and 23 year old is doing doesn't phase me and I'm sure it's the same for them. I remember the days when 50-100 members would be signed in at one time and we'd have a CC rollcall. Now, I barely see 1-3 people signed in at any given time.

I also think a lot of the "rules" scared many members away. Some felt the rules weren't being administered fairly or across the board. Some felt they had to walk on eggshells to be a part. I know one (ex-member) who said her post was removed because she advertised her show but she gave examples of how other CC's had promoted their events. It's not for me to say who's right or who's wrong. I'm just giving points on why the membership or posts have dwindled.

Another reason is because a lot of members either went back to their Myspace accounts or began using Facebook which isn't quite as "rigid" when it comes to rules. I personally talk to a lot of CCs on FB. And quiet as kept, I don't need to be on any websites because I have too much to do.

one thing I hate seeing nearly every morning in my inbox is a requests for shopping codes.......I have to say that totally turned me off from even posting in the fashion forum and the site in general......I found other places to talk about my fashion addiction......I don't mind the odd request but seriously??? if you look in there right now I bet the entire forum is full of pages and pages of requests for shopping codes - , except for maybe Taf's most recent shopping haul post....sorry but isn't that what google is for? I know that is a total b**ch and moan from me, but it didn't encourage me to want to post......

I didn't mind the rules......we need guidelines.....otherwise there is anarchy.....so I like rules.....I thought they were being administered pretty fairly too.....I think the problem is that folks weren't reporting all of the offenders all of the time.......and I think a lot of time we weren't even getting all of the story..... and truth be told I think some of us were taken in by some folks and led on a merry chase......which ended up burning a lot of people in the end.

...perhaps my explanation isnt too clear but I stated to A] have a MAJOR overhaul of the site OR B] let the site die peacefully.

I don't believe at any point did I say to just let CC die. Just to clarify as it was very clear to me but seemingly not to others.

'but speaking solely for myself I think it time that something MAJOR was sorted or let the site and the good memories that we still recollect die peacefully'.

CeCe xx

I don't know what to say, although first i will say thankyou CeCe for giving me a little shout, i really loved it here, and did try to keep some kind of conversation, birthdays, and things going on in the general chat, yes i understand i was never in the fashion forum and i was not the owner or acutally anything to this site just a chick a curvy chick they loved the togetherness and acceptingness and the friends that i made here so i did frequent every day for almost five years till recently when i started going to facebook because most of the ladies that i was missing were there, so i have been really not even coming on this site for days at a time, for me it will never be the same
i am only one person so its not like losing me was such a hit to the site but it was to my heart, i honestly found so many friends here that i speak to often and hate that this site has been so slow, but i did try and other regulars tried and tried but without people posting and getting involved where are you at
how to get this site up and running again well i can't tell you that, how to get me to come back now that i can say
for me it would have to be well ---exciting again
members coming in --good topics --- responses
i posted topics and was told i posted too much or not interesting topcis but then the people telling me that where were their topics and participation??i was just trying to get conversation going cause there was none i was even givin the (suggestion) of how i should write in paragraph form and not broken sentences
to many rules, if someone don't like they should just move on to the next topic
i love the idea of a curvy chick site, loved the support and understanding that came with it
but without participation and topics and managing i don't know
like i said this is just one persons view on how i feel, and a fast response at that

I have to agree. I initially joined this site just for the fashion boards and would love to see that really get going again. I enjoy seeing other people's purchases (since we have so many really stylish women on here...tafkap4d and Arekah in particular!!) and love it when people post about new stores or plus size clothing websites they've found, or new plus designers, etc etc. I like seeing what real women are buying because it gives me ideas of things to try that I may not have considered otherwise!

Well, Candace has had a lot on her plate this past year, I'm sure. Life and daily obligations can get overwhelming at times, so we tend to "prioritize" our 'to-do' lists.

Candace and her business partner started this site a few years back and did a great job getting the ball rolling. It's a great site and it's awesome that so many people took to it so well.

If anyone here thinks this place could be "better" or should've been better in the last year, I say take the initiative to step-up to the plate and become the site administrator, take the responsibility off of Candace's hands if you feel you can do it better, and handle it. People can sit here and lambaste Candace for letting the site slip a little within the last year now, but I'm a "put your money where your mouth is" kinda' dude.

Just my thoughts.

Didn't someone volunteer to be an administrator for the site a few months ago? I think that one of the main problems (IMO) with CC is that if seems like there is no one maintaining the site on a day to day basis. On most of the other forums I've been on there are multiple moderators/admins to keep things in order, deal with problems, update etc.

I think that most people are overwhelmed with the amount of "media" that is out here now. There is facebook, twitter, myspace, blogs and the likes.

I love to peek into CC every once in awhile but it just no longer holds an appeal for me.

I mainly come here for the fashion and style information and loved reading Bombshell but it rarely changes and it doesn't really cover enough information for me or it features the same things over and over.

A big downer for me was the "attack of the Curvy chicks' - when people began being just rude to one another. I can get that in RT, I don't need it here.

The loss of a lot of tried and true members was also sad. I loved logging on and laughing my ass off at CrystalPs jokes, tour dates, prayers and just down right insanity. I miss Hobbyt's intellectual in your face thoughts, I miss Shebel's nuttiness and I could go on all day.

I also don't think it is solely anyone's fault. So what if Candace was not around - how did that stop the rest of us from logging on and chatting?
