Gaby and Precious... first off THANKS for the congrats! secondly, just to clarify this was a topic prompted by some real life people I am aware of and a ouple of on-line folks who I have noticed do the same 'ignoring' thing BUT be all 'nicey nicey' when they have, want, or do something! So, there is NO worries re no comments lol ... it was just something I wondered if others had experience of?
Thanks again...& on MY fab news I am letting them haters hate...!

While some people can be jealous in a mean-spirited way, some find it hard because they wish it were them too. I give props where props are due and I think it was awesome (which is why I congratulated you long ago), but some people can't get past their own hurts, failed relationships, etc. to offer up good tidings to others.

| | | | | | Subject: Some women are soooo transparent... | Posted: November 6, 2009 @ 10:28 PM | | I know what your talking about CeCe! But, I'll take it one step further and say that there are some people out there that when you have something important/exciting etc that you share with them, or on facebook, or where ever, their imediate comment is something like "Well I have this..." or "This happened to me..." or "SO and so wanted to do this with me...."
Get what I'm sayin? They turn the topic around to themselves. I HATE HATE HATE that, I know someone who does it all the time and I have just given up talking to her, because I don't want to hear about her her her all the time.
Oh yea....congrats AGAIN!!!! WHooHoo
(It's been 4 years already?!?! Holy Crap!!)

*Whew*
I was about to say, with how dead this place has been I felt that you might have been a little angry that you didn't get a bigger to do about the status change.
But seriously congrats.
It does seem like weddings make you see who your real friends are. My husband and I have barely talked to any of our friends from before the wedding.
-One of my best guy friends RSVPed and asked if he could bring a date. I told him he could. My parents were paying $50 a head for the reception. Come time for the big day, he didn't show up...along with 15 other people.
-My husband's best man had an accident with his fish tank the morning of the wedding. I understand that having a 50 gallon tank on your living room floor is not ideal. My husband has a contact with a place that does clean up for floods and fires, and he offered to pay to have this guy come out and do clean up. The guy wouldn't have it. Instead, he ended up leaving our reception 45 minutes in.
-70% of our guests ate food and left, some of them telling me that they had other plans
You really do learn who is a true friend and who isn't. However, I guess that is a good thing. I've been able to move away from people who were taking and never giving and make new friends. I always think "What would my wedding have been like if the friends I made in the last year could come." |

lol nah love not angry..our mantle is full of cards..our inboxes too ... the telephones rung and rung..I definatly not angry...just find it frustratingly amusing that when some folk have 'news' it's BIG ..but others they are not seen for dust...sad.
...and as for your wedding guests. How RUDE..I would have been upset and probably have very little want to these folk...not turning up to an event with no by or leave at the expense of others is just classless...hey ho...onwards and upwards eh...moving on IS the way forward (so it seems!)

| | | | | | Subject: Some women are soooo transparent... | Posted: November 7, 2009 @ 1:43 PM | | Congrats girly! I've been lurking off and on but haven't really logged on to Curvy much. Posts are to far in between. So sorry I didn't log in to congratulate you. I've sort of converted to FB with it being so quiet here lately.
*hugs* |
| | | | | | Subject: Some women are soooo transparent... | Posted: November 8, 2009 @ 9:37 PM | | Sorry I didn't congradulate but I don't always read every posted toic either but that's no excuse. On-line I sometimes don't post it I notice there's already a ton of congrats to you posts because I feel the sentiment has already been expressed and if I don't have anything personnel to express or declare I feel like I'm adding just another unnoticable post that no one's going to notice. I'm not sure if others feel the same way. I'm sorry if that hurt anyone's feelings at any time.
I wish you luck in all your plans to come. I hope you get a yummy cake to throw at each other. :-) |
