Well, I have to disagree, I think there is GREAT hope for this site and believe it or not, we do still get the visitors we used to, we just aren't chatting as much. I would LOVE to see many of our old members back and will work to get them back and participating, however I will be focusing on new members as well

...well, you cannot be any fairer than that..get back the old and encourage the new...my point was and is it needed to happen before NOW. I want this site to flourish and always have championed it BUT there was only so much the same ol' faces could do to try and keep the site alive.

Also, you Candace ofcourse will have the numbers regarding the visitors to the site etc..but let's face it to say folk just aren't 'chatting as much' is alittle bit of an understatement?

CC members asked for assistance..I read the requests on the general board etc..and for whatever reasons they did not seem to get answered

Just to clarify I do not wish this site to slide any further into the obvious decline it has found itself in..and if there are still many visitors to this site then I would be interested to see how the silent are coaxed into participation.

Cece,

I hope am not misreading you, but your comments seem so "defeated". The greatest victories come out of adversity and for me to just "give up", well I would be doing this site and this industry a disservice. So since it hasn't happened NOW it can't happen at all? Oh, that couldn't be further from the truth. I have seen a number of web-sites and companies come and go and then come back again with huge support. One thing that I can say is "we never went away"... we just had to put things on hold... for many different reasons.

I take full responsibility for the site not advancing in the last 3 years, however I am now trying to pick up the pieces and get things moving again... hopefully with everyone's support.

All I ask, is if one wants this site to flourish again like it did a few years ago, then we all need to rally together and have a positive attitude about the possibilities... that is all I can ask.

We have to put a positive spin on this idea in order for it to work... I hope we can all do that together

I don't think you have misread me at all Candace because tbvh I do feel a tad let down and done with this site the want to take my time and effort into participating in a site that seems to be at a standstill is not top of my itinary...myself and many other ladies TRIED and TRIED to get it rolling again and again ALONE...now if these women speak up..again who the hell knows, but speaking solely for myself I think it time that something MAJOR was sorted or let the site and the good memories that we still recollect die peacefully.

I wish you luck and will always be a fan of the CC we had ... who knows if it an rise from the proverbial ashes..time will tell!

TBVH Candace I think you have a bloody cheek with the 'WOW' thing...I was HERE trying to help YOUR site...ME and quite a few others I may add! I DIDN'T give up ... we are talking years here..not just a few months!

Just because I speak up and say what I think I get disrespected with a 'WOW' and a 'amazed' face icon making me out to be a defeatist...the truth hurts and ALOT of folk feel the same way as me that is why they are no longer here.

Perhaps as I already stated some effort to rescue this site should have been made a significant period of time ago when it was going into a steady decline then people such as myself would not feel so defeated or just plain uninterested now...members wanted help..none was forthcoming.

Whose to blame for that..I am damn sure it isn't me or the other regular members who stuck with it throught thick and thin....some serious 'thank yous' to people suh as Tarab need to be said too ... that member has gone Waaaaaaaaaaay above and beyond with attempting to keep this site rolling...

My opinion has been stated..and I stick by what I say. Now let's see if any other old/new members add their thoughts...? *we'll see!*

Cece,

The "wow" comes from the idea that you would even imply that I should let the site "DIE". .. that kind of thinking shocks me. You are basically telling me to give up. Well, no I won't.

Ok, so you are uninterested... I get it. You keep reminding me of what I already know and that is this has been a long time coming. I hear you! But with this re-hashing of the past and what "should have, could have, would have" just hinders our ability to make progress.

As much as I do appreciate you and all the others, I can't be held back by the past. I can only hope to learn from it and apply those lessons to the future of the site. That is all I can do.

If you don't want to be a part of it, I understand and don't blame you and the others one bit. However, I will continue to try and re-build this site into what it once was.

I just want to say don't add any games Candace......the minute games are added........this site will be blocked from me at work.....the scripts at work will not allow sites that have games on them through the network (facebook etc.......) so I can't access CC if there are any of those sorts of features here..... besides I don't think a discussion board needs games......we have facebook for that.

we just need woman who are interested in discussing issues that interest us.....

I am remiss in that I haven't been here to do that, I have been busy administrating at another site and that has taken up a lot of my time....

what about having a "hot topics" forum. Some people on here love to talk about controversial issues, some people can't handle it and don't like it. if a topic becomes to controversial, it could move to the "hot topics" forum, so people don't have to be forced to read through it on the general page.

When new members join the site they should be made to feel comfortable, not as though they have to prove themselves in order to be liked cause I know that's the vibe some new members have gotten in the past.

Maybe have more forums based on different ethnicities, cultures, religions... I'm not trying to divide people but its just an idea.

Staci,

I don't blame you one bit for not being here as much, I haven't either for many different reasons, none of which have anything to do with the site or its members. My life has been turned upside down these last 3 years, but as with anything, I am working through it :-)

I will take the game "blocking" into consideration. I would hate for eveyone to be blocked while at work since that is when most are on and chatting.

I think, with interesting topics, we can re-build... that is all I can hope for. Gotta give it a try :-)

Oh and one last thing.... GO YANKEES!!!!
