| | Subject: Dr. Rey Shapewear? | Posted: November 4, 2009 @ 10:59 PM | | So...I know we've talked about this to exhaustive lengths..however, I bought a pair of spanx for a wedding I'm going to be the MOH for in December. Besides being a curvy girl, I'll also be 5months pregnant. While I haven't gained weight..I'm pretty sure my chunk has shifted! After trying on my Spanx with my bridesmaid dress, I really was not impressed and decided I'd go back and look at Dr. Rey since many of you had good things to say. I was pretty sure he was at HSN.com - but he's no where on the site. I assume they clearanced it out and ended their partnership with him? Is the shapewear sold somewhere else?
Thanks for your help ladies!!

At least it made my first trimester bearable! hehe. Geoff said he wanted to have a baby so here we are. Trying to find fashionable curvy girl clothes for a pregnant chick...that's so hard! haha.
Thanks for the advice ladies - I checked out Sears and the best I can find is a 1X (I'm a 2X), but I should check the fitting chart...for Spanx..an 18/20 is a 1X. I hope it works for me as good as it has for you Teresa, because I took one look at my backside in that dress and thought I'd have a total breakdown. It looks so bad! LOL.
I gotta find the right balance of holding in the chunk and not pressing against the baby too hard making me sick! Maybe I can just cut the belly out of it and let the baby poke through. hahaha! |

Teresa - there isn't a size chart on Sears website. In your experience, do they run TTS? |

I have one Dr. Rey shaper and can tell you that you are better off going to Sears and trying them on. I am 16-18 and the 2x was to big. I had to return it for a 1x and I can tell you that I could again return it for an XL but did not want to bother with it again. I like it and wear it from time to time but prefer my Miraclesuits. Another thing that you can try is the shapewear from Motherhood or A Pea in a Pod. I am not a big fan of Spanx but they have a maternity shaper called Power Mama. |

I went and checked out both Motherhood and Pea in the Pod..they didn't have anything other than those belly bands. What's a miraclesuit? I know of the swimsuit ones but shapewear? You like them lots eh? Where are they sold? Are they TTS? |

Not my own experience but I had a friend that used it that way and loved it. It also gave her some back support which she appreciated towards the end of her pregnancy. The Miraclesuit shapers can be bought at Macys and they come in different support levels (stay and away from the firm and extra firm because they really hold you in and I don't think they will be kind to a growing belly and booty) and in my opinion are TTS. |

It is best as Brenda said to go to Sears and try them on. I wear is medium and love it, I wear it almost everyday. It doesn't cut into your skin, will not ride up or roll down and unlike the Body Magic shapewear doesn't suck the life out of you. I have the Body Magic but I love the Dr Reys more plus its cheaper. |
