I like the Harry Potter movies, though the third movie is my least favorite but I think they captured the main points as best they could for the time of a movie. I also liked the new Pride and Prejudice. I thought it was well done and HELLO Mr.Darcy!

WORST EVER: Eragon. I saw the movie first, and liked it, then read the book and loved it, but it had been a while since I had seen the movie, so I decided to watch the movie again, I HAD to turn it off. I was so pissed. They totally botched it. They changed characters, story lines, omitted important events (like important to the plot of the series) and it was just, really, really sad. Usually I can accept entertainment value but this was just awful.

Anyone see The Other Boleyn Girl? I didn't get to and I'm curious because I really enjoyed the book.

Yes, I did, and they totally butchered the book! The book plays it a little fast and loose with history, but the movie just takes the scandulous parts of the book and meshs them together. It also really jumps around time-wise, leaving out what I thought was important. Still, I loved watching all the intrique and the costumes were glorious. It's worth a movie rental, but don't expect it to be like the book.

That green dress Natalie Portman wears is to die for. The costumes are great, I agree. Thanks for the input. I figured they'd butcher it since I was so excited they put it to a movie. I was alright to accept the fact that the book wasn't exactly historically accurate, but movies taking a book that's already wrong then changing it worse, ugh!

YIKES! I gotta go to work!

the WORST, hands down, in my opinion was Memoirs of a Geisha. That book was absolutely wonderful!!! I was so excited to see the movie, and it was a disaster. they changed some of the main characters, which took so much away from the story, the acting was awful (all chines e actress speaking English with a fake Japanese accent!! WTF!!!!). and they made the main character mad ( as in crazy) which she wasn't in the book. its such a well written, amazing story and the movie destroyed it. the ONLY saving grace were the beautiful costumes.

i saw this movie years ago and to this day still gets me all riled up thinking about it, lol.

Lestat
The Other Boleyn Girl

BEST:

Sin City (ok, so it's a graphic novel but it was panel for panel accurate!)

I absolutely agree...I spent major time at work and after work finishing that book when ever I got the chance. I was addicted...then when I found out Tom Hanks was Robert Langdon...I think my heart broke. He's totally not a Robert.

OH! I agree whole heartedly about Lestat...that was barfarama big time. I appreciated Aaliyah in her costumes but overall the movie sucked. It was an insult to Lestat.

HAHAHA...so meant Queen of the Damned! Glad you caught on to what i was talking to...I get messed up because they combined two books into one movie! What ticked me off the most was the complete removal of the twins Maharet and Mekare who were crucial to the plot of the book!

I wish there was a word for when that happens! LOL. They should have NOT made that movie if they were going to make it so hokey and take out major people. Ugh!

I wish I were a movie producer...I wouldn't tolerate such crapola.
